The Men in Blue are gearing up in full swing for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025. Notably, Team India will be playing all their matches in Dubai based on the hybrid model. Hence, soon after landing in the vibrant city, the team hit the ground running for a full-intensity practice.

This caught everyone off guard as everyone expected the team to take a light training session or a rest day before starting the first practice session. In fact, as per reports, the Indian team took the ground at the ICC (International Cricket Council) Academy in Dubai, during the scorching heat during the day instead of during the evening session. Notably, the Rohit Sharma-led side will be looking to go after their third Champions Trophy title. However, amid practice and figuring out their team combination and playing XI, there have been a lot of questions regarding the squad with one of them including the selection of two wicketkeeping options in Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul.

Amid the selection conundrum, the Men in Blue suffered an injury scare during their first practice session where Pant took a blow to the knee and seemed in pain after suffering the impact. The incident happened when the star all rounder Hardik Pandya played a shot which ended up hitting Rishabh Pant's left knee. Soon after taking the hit, the talented wicketkeeper-batter was visibly down with excruciating pain. Though this viral video might have got the fans worried, Pant straight away padded up and went all guns blazing with his batting.

“During the net session, one powerful hit from Pandya caused a minor but freakish accident as Pant was hit on the knee. The 27-year-old stumper was in pain, but the physio Kamlesh Jain tended to him with a concerned Pandya coming out of the nets to check on his junior colleague. But it didn’t turn out to be a serious issue, as Pant padded up soon after the first team batters were finished with their sessions," an NDTV report was quoted as saying.
