India wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant has made tremendous progress in his rehabilitation journey since his horrific car crash on December 30, 2022. The 25-year-old is going through rigorous training programs at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to get himself ready to be back on the pitch as soon as possible. Pant once again gave a glimpse of his training drill to his fans on Monday, September 04.

In a short video, the India cricketer can be seen running intensely with high knees under the supervision of his trainer. Notably, in a recent practice game, Pant was seen struggling to run and hence the cricketer is working on his running ability to become fully fit to bat again.

The wicketkeeper batter shared the short clip on his Instagram story and wrote, “Seeing some light in the dark tunnel.”

The Haridwar-born cricketer has missed several important tournaments this year such as IPL 2023, World Test Championship final 2023 and Asia Cup. Pant also won’t be able to take part in the ODI World Cup scheduled to take place in India from October 05.

Ishan Kishan shining in Pant's absence

In his absence, Ishan Kishan has shone with some marvellous performances with his bat in the past few months. The southpaw was awarded Player of the Series for finishing as the highest run scorer of the recent three-match ODI series vs West Indies.

Kishan scored 184 runs from three innings at an average of 61.33 and a strike rate of 111.51 with three fifties to his name. Furthermore, he showed great composure batting under pressure during India’s opening fixture in the Asia Cup 2023 against Pakistan.

The 25-year-old played a scintillating innings of 82 (81) clobbering nine fours and two sixes. Kishan forged a crucial 138-run partnership with Hardik Pandya (87 off 90) which bailed India out of trouble after they were reeling at 66/4. With KL Rahul still recovering from his injury, Kishan has wiped away India’s wicketkeeping conundrums with his incredible form.
