'It wasn't easy to digest, but life moves on' - Rohit on ODI World Cup 2023 debacle
Rohit recently opened up on the heartbreaking defeat in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 final and shared his thoughts on the loss. He mentioned that coping with the final loss against the Aussies was not an easy task. However, the support from his friends and family played a crucial role in keeping his spirits up and maintaining a light atmosphere around him during this challenging period.
"I had no idea how to come back from this. The first few days I didn't know what to do. You know, my family, my friends, kept me going, kept things pretty light around me, which was quite helpful. "It wasn't easy to digest, but life moves on. You have to move on in life. But, honestly, it was tough. It was not so easy to just move on.," Rohit said in the video shared by his official team on Instagram.
Rohit acknowledged the team's efforts and emphasized that they played well but made mistakes as well. "I thought we did everything we could from our side. If someone asks me, what went wrong… because we won ten games, and in those ten games, yes, we made mistakes, but that mistake happens in every game that you play. You cannot have a perfect game. You can have a near-perfect game. But you cannot have a perfect game," Rohit added.
