‘Ro kar milen unhain?’ - Babar Azam’s epic response to reporter on clash with Shaheen Afridi ahead of PSL match
Peshawar are set to cross swords with Lahore in match 15 of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Sunday, February 26.
Peshawar Zalmi skipper Babar Azam came up with a rather hilarious response to a reporter, when asked about the clash against Shaheen Afridi-led Lahore Qalandars’. Peshawar are set to cross swords with Lahore in match 15 of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on February 26.
During a pre-match presser ahead of the all-exciting contest, Babar sparked off laughter in the conference when a reporter asked the former on his clash with Shaheen Afridi’s Qalandars.
Here is how the conversation unfolded-
Reporter: Babar (Azam), sabse aap haske milte hain, lekin Shaheen Shah Afridi ke saath kal aapka Gaddafi Stadium mein mukabala hai (Babar, you usually have a smile when you meet people but you play Shaheen Shah Afridi at Gaddafi Stadium next)
Babar quickly responded to the query which left everyone in splits in the conference.
Babar: Ro kar milen unhain? Kya kare, nahi khele fir? Aap batayein (Should I cry and meet him, or should I not play? Please tell me)
Playing against him is a challenge and gives me confidence: Babar Azam
Soon after the witty response, Babar added that playing against the likes of Afridi is a ‘challenge’ and that it gives him immense confidence.
“Whether we play against Shaheen and Lahore, the effort is always to give the best. The kind of bowler that he is and the way he is bowling presently, everyone knows that he is one of Pakistan’s best bowlers. He is improving day-by-day. Playing against him is a challenge and also gives me confidence, since I am playing the best bowler. It is difficult at times. Sometimes I dominate, sometimes he does,” added Babar.
Plying his trade this edition for a new franchise, Peshawar Zalmi, Babar is currently the third highest run-getter in the PSL. Having played four matches, the skipper has aggregated 171 runs which includes two half-centuries.
Meanwhile, Peshawar are reeling after a loss suffered in their previous game and will be on the lookout to come all guns blazing when they face Shaheen’s Lahore at the Gaddafi Stadium.
