With the Border-Gavaskar Trophy moving towards the second Test at Adelaide, the Indian team have some difficult decisions to make for the playing XI. Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan shared the likely playing XI for the upcoming day-night Test at Adelaide Oval
After India's 295-run victory in the series opener in Perth, the visitors might see some changes with the return of key players and the team's impressive momentum. Captain Rohit Sharma, who missed the series opener due to the birth of his second child, and opener Shubman Gill, who was sidelined with a thumb injury, are set to make their comebacks. Pathan asked for a direct swap that would see Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel making way for Rohit and Gill.
"I think in the Test Match, Rohit Sharma will be back. He is the captain, so he will have a straight swap with Devdutt Padikkal. And Shubman Gill should also be in the squad, instead of Dhruv Jurel. There were a lot of questions on the batting position of KL Rahul. He should open with Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Rohit Sharma has batted in different numbers. So he will be able to adjust very well. Since it was a very good opening, you don't want to change it, especially after Perth's win. So Rohit and Shubman Gill will bat in the middle order, and KL Rahul and Yashasvi will both open," Pathan spoke exclusively with Star Sports.

Twilight is the biggest challenging moment in the Pink Ball Test Match: Irfan Pathan
The opening combination of Rahul and Jaiswal who scored 77 and 161 runs respectively in the second innings of the first Test have impressed everyone with their performance.
Meanwhile, captain Sharma in the pre-match press conference revealed that KL and Jaiswal is going to open in the match and he is fine with batting lower down the order. "Yeah, he will be opening the batting. I will bat somewhere in the middle," Rohit said.
The former all-rounder also revealed about the challenges of playing a pink-ball Test. He mentioned that bowlers get huge advantage in this format and wickets fall in tandem and if India tackles that then they will go on to win the game.
"One more thing, which I think is very important to talk about in the preview. When it's time for twilight, that is the biggest challenging moment in the Pink Ball Test Match. because. You see a lot of wickets fall during that time. So if you counter that, then this Test Match is ours," Pathan added.
