Rohit Sharma is not only celebrated as one of the premier openers in world cricket and a cornerstone of India's batting lineup, but also recognized for leading the Mumbai Indians to five IPL titles after assuming captaincy from another great of the game, Ricky Ponting, in 2013. However, alongside his cricketing prowess, Rohit's propensity for forgetfulness and absent-mindedness, particularly in non-cricketing matters, adds an intriguing dimension to his personality.
In a recent revelation by his close friend and seasoned veteran Virat Kohli, it was disclosed that Rohit Sharma has had a history of forgetting critical items, including passports, wristwatches, and even people's names at times.

A similar occurrence unfolded on the eve of the clash between the Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians at the iconic Eden Gardens. As the team was about to leave for their hotel post their practice session and with the entire team having boarded the team bus, Rohit was seen near the bus door, supposedly looking for something. After minutes of unsuccessful scanning, it turned out that he had forgotten his phone in the dressing room itself.
Rohit got off the team bus, and was about to head back to the dressing room to fetch it. Around the same time, a person was seen rushing with Rohit's phone in his hand. Post that, Rohit finally got on to the team bus.

According to the protocols set by the regulatory committee of the Indian Premier League, members of franchises aren't allowed access to their personal electronic gadgets while inside the venue for practice or during matches, and this directive holds true for the day before the commencement of the match as well as the match day itself. It's the onus of the team manager or the logistics officer to gather every player's phone. The players can gain access to their respective devices post the completion of their sessions and duties on the field.
