India took on Bangladesh in their only ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 warm-up match on (Saturday) June 1, at the newly built Nassau County Cricket International Stadium in New York. While the Men in Blue secured a comfortable 60-run victory, the match witnessed an incident that showed the caring nature of Indian captain Rohit Sharma.

During the second innings, when India was fielding an enthusiastic fan breached security and ran onto the ground to hug Sharma. The security personnel apprehended the fan and pinned him to the ground. However, the star cricketer's reaction in that tense moment won hearts.

As the US police officers handcuffed the fan, Rohit Sharma urged the security to go easy on the individual. The Indian skipper recognized that the fan meant no harm. The 37-year-old could be seen gesturing to the officers, pleading with them to handle the situation gently. He even called out to someone from the Indian team to intervene and ensure the fan was treated humanely, despite breaching the security protocols.
