India played the final of the ODI World Cup 2023 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahemadabad where they were comprehensively beaten by the Aussies by six wickets. What followed was a gulf of sadness from fans and players alike. Rohit Sharma was seen breaking down after the match, whereas Virat Kohli had to hide his emotions behind his cap.
Reports, and later pictures, emerged of PM Narendra Modi visiting the players in the Indian dressing room and consoling them with hugs and words of motivation after the heartbreaking loss. As however is the fate of sport, the show must go on and the players will have to move on from this disappointing loss, introspect on what went wrong and regroup for the next challenge.
Following the defeat, Team India captain Rohit Sharma and ex-India captain Virat Kohli arrived in Mumbai after India’s ODI World Cup 2023 final defeat on Monday. A video has surfaced online showing Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma heading towards their car after exiting the airport. Another video showed Rohit carrying his daughter Samaira while exiting the airport.
