After resumption of play on the reserve day, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul continued to bat from where they left off in the ongoing Super 4 clash between India and Pakistan in Asia Cup 2023. Rahul was batting on 17* when the game resumed and looked more comfortable on the second day. After completing his fifty off 60 balls, Rahul took Pakistan's leg spinner Shadab Khan to the cleaners.

On a full-pitched ball by the wrist-spinner, Rahul advanced down the track to hit the ball over mid-wicket. The shot is touted as difficult to play and requires master wrist work. Rahul had no problems whatsoever and made the shot look beautiful. India's former skipper Kohli, at the non-striker's end, and skipper Rohit Sharma were left in awe of the Karnataka batter's wrist work, and their reactions said it all.
See, how Rohit and Virat reacted to Rahul's six off Shadab:

Speaking further of the match, at the end of 45 overs, Kohli and Rahul played some excellent cricket, and courtesy of their knocks, India look set to end well. Rahul is currently in the driver's seat, scoring 95 off 96 deliveries. Kohli, on the other hand, is also looking comfortable at the crease with 83 off just 73 balls. Rohit Sharma & Co. have already brought up 300 on the board, and the innings look all-set for an emphatic finish with eight wickets still in hand.
Earlier in the game, the resumption of the game on Reserve Day was delayed due to a slight drizzle with continuous rains. However, the groundsmen at the R Premdasa Stadium in Colombo worked round the clock to ensure the earliest possible resumption of the game. Due to their unsung efforts, the game, scheduled for 3 pm IST, was delayed by 1 hour 40 minutes.
Continuing from 24.1 overs, Pakistan bowlers, who are without Haris Rauf, couldn't manage to show any resistance towards the Indian batters, and thus, India added more than 150 runs since resumption without any loss of wickets thus far. Now, both Rahul and Virat will look to end their innings with three-figure marks, respectively. Whereas, Pakistan will look to stop the flow of runs in the death overs to reduce their chase in the second innings.
