RR vs RCB: 14-year-old kid breaches security, runs on field to hug Virat Kohli as video goes viral

The 19th game of the ongoing IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024 was briefly halted after a 14-year-old fan breached security and ran onto the field to hug star Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter Virat Kohli. At first, Kohli was startled to see the fan; however, he did allow the kid to hug him reluctantly.

After a moment, the security in the field caught the fan and escorted him out of the field. According to several reports, the kid revealed his name to be Munir Ali, hailing from Bihar's Araria district. The video of Munir entering the field of play went instantly viral on social media and got the internet talking with differentiated opinions over the incident involving star batter Kohli, who went on to score his eighth century in the league's history on Saturday.

According to reports, Ali arrived in Jaipur on the same day of the match and was approached outside the stadium by a guy named Shubham, who black marketed the tickets to Ali, the kid paid INR 1,900 to watch Virat Kohli play. The officers who took him into custody revealed that Munir Ali was taken for further investigation and the kid did not have his ticket on him at the time, and has given the contact number of Shubham to the authorities.
RR continue to dominate IPL 2024
Speaking of Rajasthan Royals, the inaugural champions continue to put in excellent performances in the ongoing IPL 2024. With four wins in four matches, Rajasthan Royals continue to stay unbeaten in the tournament. Currently, the side sits atop the points table with eight points in four matches, staying ahead of the likes of Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings.

On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bengaluru has had a forgettable start to the IPL 2024 season. Having played five games in the season so far, RCB have only managed to win one out of the five matches, and currently see themselves in eighth place in the standings with two points in five matches.
