In the semi-final game of the Road Safety World Series on Wednesday against Australia Legends, former India all-rounder Suresh Raina, who represents India Legends, turned back time by taking a spectacular catch. Raina, who was regarded as one of the best fielders during his playing days, made a stunning grab at point to dismiss Australia’s deadly batter, Ben Dunk.

Abhimanyu Mithun bowled a wide full-toss when Dunk was playing an aggressive innings, batting on 46(25).  Normally, it would have cleared the point area, but this time, Dunk wasn't able to time it perfectly. However, despite his poor shot, Raina, at point, would have been nearly hit by the ball if he hadn't made a heroic effort to take the catch.

Rain postpones the first semi-final midway

Earlier in the game, India Legends skipper Sachin Tendulkar won the toss and put the opponents to bat first in what was the semi-finals of the Road Safety World Series 2022. Australian opening duo of Shane Watson and Alex Doolan got off to a great start as they put together a 60-run partnership. Watson's dismissal by Rahul Sharma gave India their first wicket, and Doolan quickly fell off a Yusuf Pathan delivery.

Before Abhimanyu Mithun picked up two wickets in the form of Nathan Reardon and Ben Dunk, Yusuf Pathan struck for the second time and added Callum Ferguson’s wicket under his name. The game was stopped midway on Wednesday, September 28, but the two teams will continue from where they left off on Thursday, September 29.

Australia scored 136/5 in 17 overs before the play was halted, and then suspended. Their innings will continue on Thursday as they’ll bat for the remaining three overs, followed by India’s chase. The second semi-final is also scheduled on September 29, where West Indies Legends and Sri Lanka Legends will square off. On October 2, the championship game will take place in Raipur's Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium.
