Ruturaj Gaikwad recently got married to Utkarsha Pawar in a dreamy wedding in Mahabaleshwar and the cricketer posted several pics to keep the fans updated. On Monday, the CSK opener posted some more heartwarming pictures from his wedding ceremony on his Instagram account.
The two were reportedly dating each other for quite some time and they eventually decided to embark on a new innings recently. Gaikwad shot to great fame after playing a pivotal role in CSK's fourth IPL title win back in 2021. He won the Orange Cap with 635 runs in 16 matches and received an India call-up shortly after the staggering performance.
Gaikwad revealed in the caption of his Instagram post that his wife, Utkarsha, had decided to dedicate the wedding ceremony to the South culture and the people of Chennai. She wanted to show her respect towards them as their support was crucial in helping Gaikwad find his feet early on in his IPL career.
"Utkarsha being part of my life and my journey right from the start knew exactly About the Important Aspects of my Life," Gaikwad wrote on Instagram.
“She decided to dedicate the entire traditional Maharashtrian engagement to The Chennai People and the South culture Because of The importance of that city and what Chennai Super Kings Have done to my Life! Indeed it turned out to be really really Special !! I love you ! Utkarsha,” he added.
For the unversed, Utkarsha is also a cricketer from Maharashtra and has represented the state in domestic cricket.
Ruturaj Gaikwad could be seen in action when India takes on West Indies in July 2023
The Indian team is currently enjoying a much-needed break and will return to action in July when they travel to the Caribbean to face West Indies in a multi-format series. The two teams will battle it out in two Tests, three ODIs, and five T20Is.
Gaikwad is in contention for a spot, at least on the T20I side. The right-handed batter has so far played nine T20Is where he has scored a solitary half-century and his last T20I appearance came against Ireland in June 2022.
