Virat Kohli is one of the most revered cricketers in the world. He is also supremely popular among the younger generation. Ahead of play on Day 2 of the Boxing Day Test between India and South Africa, at SuperSport Park, Centurion, in a meet-up facilitated by veteran commentator Mark Nicholas, a young fan got his Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) jersey signed by Kohli.

The former India captain was busy practising but took out time to put a smile on the kid's face, giving him a moment he would want to remember and cherish for the rest of his life. After signing the RCB jersey, Kohli posed for photographs with his cute fan before being joined by Nicholas. The heartwarming video has received a lot of love on social media.

Meanwhile, on Day 1, Kohli departed for 38 in India's first innings after being given a reprieve early on by Tony de Zorzi. A peach of a delivery from Kagiso Rabada got the better of him as he nicked it behind to Kyle Verreynne.

On Day 2, India were bowled out for 245. The South African batting effort was headlined by Dean Elgar, who remained unbeaten on 140 off 211 deliveries. Debutant David Bedingham played a solid knock of 56 and his partnership of 131 for the fourth wicket with Elgar helped the hosts get into a position of strength. Bedingham and Vereynne departed in quick succession towards the closing stages of Day 2 as the Proteas finished on 256/5, with a lead of 11.

Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers for India as he picked up two wickets and gave away just 48 runs in the 16 overs. The tourists would want to take the five remaining South African wickets quickly on Day 3 to avoid conceding a substantial first-innings lead.
