Sunrisers Eastern Cape defeated a high-flying MI Cape Town side by chasing a target of 172, earning one of the most illustrious victories so far in SA20's brief history. Before the Sunrisers reached the 100-run mark on the scoreboard, they had lost half their batting unit, and they looked set for an early and humiliating loss. But Sunrisers pulled off a miracle, thanks to Marco Jansen's 27-ball 66.
Jansen, who is best renowned for his bowling, also showed off his batting abilities during his knock, hitting 3 boundaries and 7 sixes. The right-handed hitter had a strike rate of 244.44 while batting and punished almost every bowler during his knock. He even hammered MI Cape Town skipper Rashid Khan for 28 runs in one over.
It was a perfect demonstration of Jansen's viciousness against Rashid, who is regarded as one of the top spinners in T20 cricket. But a terrible incident took place during the game when two fielders ran towards the boundary in an attempt to stop one of Jansen's shots off Sam Curran's delivery as it went straight to the deep mid-wicket corner.
Journalist Zainab Abbas was interviewing one of the coaches on the other side of the rope when the fielder collided with her in an attempt to stop the ball on the boundary. As a result of the collision, Zainab had a terrible fall as she lost her balance. Zainab immediately stood up and revealed that she was fine and thankfully, did not hurt herself.

Speaking of the Sunrisers Eastern Cape, the Men in Orange clinched another last-over thrilling victory and improved their numbers in the points table. After losing two games in a row against Pretoria Capitals, the Sunrisers bagged two consecutive wins against MI Cape Town within three days.
Interestingly, both their games ended in the final over, but the Aiden Markram-led side emerged victorious on both occasions. The Sunrisers will now look to continue their winning momentum, and aim for a win against Paarl Royals in the upcoming contest of the tournament which is scheduled to take place on January 19, Thursday.
