In his debut #AskSachin Q&A session on Twitter, former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar revealed the message he shared with Virat Kohli during the ICC ODI World Cup final in 2011. Notably, while chasing 275 runs at the Wankhede Stadium against Sri Lanka, India lost two quick wickets of Virender Sehwag and Tendulkar. Meanwhile, during his walk back to the pavilion, the ‘Master Blaster’ was spotted sharing something with Kohli which he eventually revealed on April 21, 2023 - 12 years after the incident.
Tendulkar on his Twitter handle stated that he informed Kohli that the ball was still swinging and he should play accordingly. Notably, batting at number four, the cricketer scored 35 runs off 49 deliveries and even though he failed to capitalize on his start, Virat laid the foundation for a historic win in favour of the MS Dhoni-led side.
“Ab bhi ball thoda swing ho raha hai!” Sachin revealed when he was asked about the message he shared with Kohli on the big night.
Sachin reveals his advice to Arjun Tendulkar before the latter chose cricket as a career
The 49-year-old also revealed his first advice to his son Arjun Tendulkar, who recently made his debut in the Indian Premier League. The former cricketer also mentioned that he would have loved to feature in a match which involves his son Arjun and MI skipper Rohit Sharma.
“ARE YOU SURE????????” Sachin wrote when asked about his first advice to Arjun when he decided to choose cricket as his profession.
Meanwhile, after his debut wicket performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2023, Arjun opened up and revealed that he does discuss the game with his father occasionally. The youngster also shared what Sachin tells him mostly before a game.
“We talk about cricket, we discuss tactics before the game and he (Sachin Tendulkar) tells me to back what I practise every game,” Arjun said.
