Sachin Tendulkar fulfills special request of former West Indies cricketer Winston Benjamin

Former West Indies cricketer, Winston Benjamin, made a special request to former legendary Indian cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar, a few months ago. Benjamin has been making efforts to improve the condition of cricket in his country. He has been working at the grass-roots level to help the budding cricketers receive the best possible equipment that is essential for their development.

In a video posted by the sports journalist, Vimal Kumar, on his YouTube channel, Benjamin made a special request to Tendulkar for better equipment for the youngsters. He even gave his number on the video for anyone who would like to contribute to the cause.

"Previously, we used to have a tournament in Sharjah, where it used to be like a benefit game for players from different countries. I don't want benefit. All I want is for somebody to say, 'here is some equipment' – 10-15 bats, that is good enough for me. I don't want 20,000 US dollars. I just want some equipment so that I can give back to youngsters. That's all I am asking," Benjamin said in the interview.

He then went on to ask Sachin Tendulkar for his kind assistance in fulfilling his goal. "Mr. Tendulkar, if you are in a position, could you assist me? Hit me up," the 58-year-old added. The Antiguan also mentioned former Indian captain, Mohammad Azharuddin, as he had contributed and donated some equipment for the youngsters as well.

After hearing Winston Benjamin’s plea that was made some months ago, Sachin Tendulkar has indeed helped the former West Indies cricketer by providing the proper equipment that is required for the proper development of the newer generation of cricketers.

In the video, Benjamin thanked the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation for their generous donation to the cause. "I want to thank the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation for presenting us with the beautiful equipment. We really do appreciate every effort by every individual that helped in making this possible," he said.

Tendulkar’s generous donation towards Benjamin and for the betterment of the younger generation just goes to show the impact that he has on world cricket, and even after his retirement, the legendary batter is going out of his way to make sure that the budding cricketers get the proper medium required for their development.
