Sanjiv Goenka and Rishabh Pant were spotted at the iconic Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK) on Monday, April 7, as they watched the intriguing Indian Super League (ISL) semi-final, 2nd leg clash between Mohun Bagan Super Giant (MBSG) and Jamshedpur FC (JFC).

For the unversed, Goenka, who is the owner of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), is also the chairman of MBSG, the football division of the historic Mohun Bagan Athletic Club. Pant is currently in Kolkata alongside his LSG teammates as they are gearing up for Tuesday's Indian Premier League (IPL) clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens.

Ahead of the high-octane clash, Rishabh Pant visited VYBK to witness the thrilling action between MBSG and JFC, with close to 59,000 fans in attendance. It turned out to be a memorable night for the Green and Maroon brigade as they overturned a 1-2 loss from the first leg, winning 2-0, thanks to goals from Jason Cummings and Apuia. They will now meet Bengaluru FC in the finals on Saturday, April 12.

Pant and Goenka watched the match together, and MBSG shared a photo of the duo, which went viral in no time. Later, ISL's official social media account shared a video where the spectators at the stadium were clicking selfies with the LSG skipper.

Can Pant end his lean patch at Eden Gardens?

LSG roped in Pant for a record-shattering INR 27 crore at the IPL 2025 mega-auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, last year. He was subsequently appointed as the captain of the side, replacing KL Rahul, who went to Delhi Capitals. Pant's start at LSG has not been ideal as of now.

The wicketkeeper-batter has only managed 19 runs from 32 balls in his first four innings in LSG colours. However, he has fared decently as a captain, with the Lucknow-based franchise winning two and losing as many from the first four games. Pant will look to turn things around against KKR on Tuesday. One solid knock would do a world of good to his confidence.
