Star India wicketkeeper and opener Sanju Samson punished express pacer Jofra Archer for three boundaries in the first over of the fifth T20I against England. It was a much-needed start for the 30-year-old batter who was having a good time with a streak of low scores in the last four matches of the series.

England skipper Jos Buttler won the toss and elected to bowl first at the Wankhede Stadium. Notably, the series is already claimed by India (3-1 margin) who have won three games in the series. Hence the last game which is being played at the iconic Wankhede, is a dead rubber.

There were already a lot of talks on whether Samson would overcome his failures in the match and overcome his short ball problems as well. From the first ball itself, Jofra Archer bowled short and Samson straight away pulled the ball over deep square leg for six. It did not end there as the Kerala-based star pulled the fifth ball for six as well and ended the over with an upper cut over the slip cordon. As a result,  Archer went for 16 runs in the over.

Though it entertaining to watch Samson in the first over and it looked like he had finally got the better of Archer and the short ball conundrum, he was shortly dismissed in the second over by Mark Wood where he was once again caught at deep square leg giving a simple catch to Jofra Archer who took a comfortable catch in the end.
