The Board of Control of Cricket in India has recently released an update from their end pertaining to three players - Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel, and Yash Dayal. All three of them, who were enlisted in India's 16-member squad for the ongoing Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur, failed to make the cut into the XI.
The BCCI have put out a notice on their social media handles that the three youngsters have been freed from Kanpur, implying that they will be at their respective sides' disposal for the imminent Irani Cup, set to commence on October 1, 2024.
Ekana International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow is all set to host the 61st edition of the Irani Cup between Mumbai and Rest of India. While Sarfaraz plays for Mumbai, Jurel and Dayal, who were representing India A and India B in the first round of the recently concluded Duleep Trophy, will feature for RoI.
The two venues are at an approximate distance of 90 km from each other, and the players are expected to reach the venue in around two-and-a-half hours' time via road.

Prime opportunity for youngsters to make an impact on national selectors
The Indian side going with an unchanged XI in the second Test meant that none of the three aforementioned stars could stake their claim in the series.
However, they aren't too far from making themselves a regular part of the squad. While the Bangladesh series was a maiden call-up to the Indian unit for the left-arm pacer, Sarfaraz and Jurel have previously been involved in the red-ball arena. Both of them made their debut against England in the home series which was played earlier this year.
