'Sarkari naukri' - Virender Sehwag aims rib-tickling post towards FIFA World Cup winner Lionel Messi
Lionel Messi was presented with the Golden Ball award on the night of the FIFA World Cup 2022 final.
Lionel Messi finally fulfilled his dream when he lifted the FIFA World Cup trophy as Argentina beat France 4-2 on penalties in a blockbuster grand finale that was played at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Qatar on Sunday, December 18. Argentina also ended their 36-year-old long wait and were crowned world champions for the third time after 1978 and 1986.
Meanwhile, former India vice-captain Virender Sehwag who had also praised both Messi and Argentina after their famous win has put up a hilarious post on Instagram directed towards Messi.
Taking to his official Instagram account, Sehwag shared a morphed face of Messi wearing a police uniform and hilariously mentioned that the Argentina megastar would have definitely got a government job immediately after winning the World Cup if he was born in India.
A dream finale for Lionel Messi
Lionel Messi succeeded in burying the ghosts of the Maracana Stadium (2014) when Argentina had fallen agonizingly short against Germany in the final. He looked confident and focused in arguably one of the biggest matches of his life and also made it matter when it came to scoring and assists.
Messi drew first blood for Argentina in the 23rd minute and a brilliance from Ángel Di María in the 36th minute meant that France were in total disarray before half-time.
However, France’s ace striker Kylian Mbappe scored twice (including a penalty) in the final 10 minutes of regulation time as both teams were tied at 2-2, and the game headed into extra-time.
Messi helped Argentina regain the lead by netting one in the 108th minute, but his PSG teammate Mbappe was not done yet as he successfully converted a penalty to make the scoreline 3-3 post extra-time and the world champion had to be decided via penalties.
During the penalties, however, it was goalie Emi Martinez for Argentina who turned out to be the hero with a couple of crucial saves as Argentina came out on top 4-2. Messi also went on to bag the Golden Ball Award.
