Shahid Afridi took to Twitter to express his heartfelt emotions following his daughter's wedding to Pakistan's fast-bowling sensation, Shaheen Afridi. The joyous event took place yesterday, surrounded by close friends and family. Afridi shared two heartwarming photos capturing a moment where he lovingly embraced the newlywed couple amidst an opulent wedding backdrop.

Prior to the wedding, there were widespread speculations regarding a possible rift between Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi. However, these speculations were put to rest as Babar Azam not only attended the wedding but also extended his blessings to the newlyweds.

Ansha Afridi, the elder daughter of Shahid Afridi, shares a close bond with the former Pakistan all-rounder. She often accompanied her father during his appearances in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches when Shahid represented one of the franchises in the tournament. On the occasion of his beloved daughter's wedding, Shahid Afridi penned an emotional note in Urdu, which can be roughly translated as follows:

"The light that entered our home yesterday is now departing before our very eyes. Baba's heart is heavy, but the hope of a new dawn has come to comfort him. @anshaheen"

Here's Shahid Afridi's post:

Shaheen on his first meet with Ansha

Shaheen and Ansha exchanged vows in a beautiful daytime Nikah ceremony in Karachi on February 3, following Islamic marriage customs. A reception was hosted for the couple at the DHA Golf and Country Club, attended by many of Shaheen's fellow teammates from the national cricket team. Shaheen Afridi's wedding added to the list of cricket-related weddings this year.

Shaheen Afridi openly acknowledged that he had initiated the marriage plans with Ansha. He emphasized the benefits of marrying at a young age, allowing more time to spend with one's partner. When asked about their first meeting and how their relationship developed, he explained,

"There wasn't a formal first meet-up as such. We used to visit each other's homes. Whenever they came to our house, I'd see her around, and then we formally met at our Nikah."
