'Someone who’s always on energy saving mode' - Yuvraj Singh turns up with funny birthday wish for Zaheer Khan
Yuvraj Singh and Zaheer Khan made their debut on the same day, and have since shared one of the finest bonds.
At the ICC Champions Trophy in 2000, two cricketers, Zaheer Khan and Yuvraj Singh made their international debut for the Men in Blue, ushering in a new era for Indian cricket. They have since developed into two of the finest cricketers in Indian cricket history, and to date, the Indian side hasn't found players of their caliber.
Zaheer and Yuvraj had a fantastic friendship on the field and their camaraderie continues even today, off the field. As Zaheer Khan celebrates his 44th birthday, Yuvraj Singh, like he always does, came up with a sweet yet funny message for his friend.
Yuvraj Singh shared a small video clip on his Twitter, which had some unseen pictures of the duo back from their playing days. Sharing the video, he captioned: “Happy birthday Zak-attack! Someone who’s always on energy saving mode 🤪 Wishing you a day as wonderful as you are brother! Lots of love always.”
Even last year, Yuvraj Singh shared a hilarious birthday wish for Zaheer Khan, as he tweeted: “To my brother from another mother - who grows lazier with every birthday! Just remember, I've got your back in your old age too Wishing you another year of lounging on the sofa lots of love and best wishes! Happy birthday, @ImZaheer.”
Both Yuvraj and Zaheer continue their service to cricket
Yuvraj Singh was recently seen playing for India Legends at the second edition of the Road Safety World Series. The team, led by the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, lifted the championship title by defeating Sri Lanka Legends in the summit clash earlier this month. The two teams reached the final last year as well, where India Legends overpowered the Sri Lanka legends.
On the other hand, Zaheer Khan played in the first season of the Road Safety World Series. As far as his association with cricket, he has been a crucial part of the Mumbai Indians franchise in the Indian Premier League. In 2018, he was appointed as the Director of Cricket for the franchise and was recently promoted to the role of Global Head of Cricket Developments.
