The Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru rivalry is simmering even after both teams are out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. RCB players’ aggressive celebration after they beat CSK in a virtual eliminator on May 18 did not sit well with the Chennai fans and their former players. Now, after RCB’s loss in the Eliminator of IPL 2024 against Rajasthan Royals, former CSK player, Ambati Rayudu has taken a jibe at the Bengaluru franchise.

The Men in Red-Blue-and-Gold were outclassed by RR in the Eliminator at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 22. Social media was abuzz with fan pages trolling the Faf du Plessis-led side and Rayudu joined the bandwagon. The former CSK cricketer uploaded a story on Instagram where Ravindra Jadeja and Ajinkya Rahane were celebrated after winning the fifth title.

“Sometimes a gentle reminder is required,” captioned Rayudu.

“RCB will have to understand that you can’t win the IPL trophy by aggressive celebrations. You can’t achieve success by beating Chennai Super Kings. You need a proper team and good performance in the playoffs to clinch the trophy. Bengaluru will have to trust the Indian players and local coaches. You can’t ignore the Indian talent in the Indian Premier League. CSK, MI, and KKR have understood the importance of Indian players and that’s why they are among the top performing units,” said Rayudu on air after the game.
