India’s ace paceman Mohammed Shami is putting his best foot forward to get back in the reckoning ahead of India’s much-awaited tour to Australia. Shami, after choking the batters in the 2023 ODI World Cup, got out of the scenes due to an Achilles heel injury. However, after a long injury break, the pacer looks all set to make his mark once again at one of the biggest stages.

The 34-year-old shared a post on his Instagram recently while bowling in the nets, displaying his readiness for the competitive cricket comeback. Shami, who is known for making the most of his opportunities, bowled with a golden arm in World Cup’23, finishing as the leading wicket-taker of the tournament.

“Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out,” Shami wrote in the caption of his latest Instagram reel.

It was only a while ago when several reports surfaced about Shami getting ruled out of the much-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy. However, the pacer himself refuted the rumours and remained optimistic about playing Down Under. Shami has had his fair share of challenges while recovering from his injury with recent knee issues adding to his woes. Shami reported a swollen knee recently which further put his participation in the Border Gavaskar Trophy in jeopardy

“I know everyone has been thinking about whether I will go to Australia or not, but that series is still far away,” Shami had said in an update.

Moving to India’s on-field developments, they are currently up against New Zealand in the second Test of the series in Pune. All the matches lined up before the WTC final remain too crucial for India to make it to the ultimate Test challenge and after they slipped in the first Test, the ongoing Test plays a vital role for the hosts.
