Suryakumar Yadav’s iconic catch to dismiss David Miller in the final of the T20 World Cup turned into a Ganesh Puja theme pandal in Vapi, Gujarat. Rishabh Pant recalls Suryakumar Yadav's iconic catch
India keeper-batter Rishabh Pant recently recalled Suryakumar’s catch in the T20 World Cup. Speaking about the same, the 26-year-old admitted that he felt the ball was going out of the park before Suryakumar stopped it at the right time.
“When the ball was in the air, it felt like everything was gone. When it hit the bat, it seemed like a sure-shot six. The ball didn't cross the boundary line because of the Indian fans' prayers," Pant said on Tanmay Bhatt’s YouTube Channel.
Since the catch, Suryakumar has gone on to become India’s T20I skipper. Hardik Pandya was ahead in the race but BCCI officials kept their faith in Suryakumar, and he has delivered for the team in the T20I series against Sri Lanka. The Men in Blue won the T20I series 3-0 and it was also head coach Gautam Gambhir’s first series in the same role.
