The Mumbai Indians have ruffled some feathers within their team. There was a significant uproar when Hardik Pandya was brought back in a historic trade in Indian Premier League's history. This was intensified by his appointment as captain, replacing the successful Rohit Sharma. Previously, their veteran pacer Jasprit Bumrah appeared surprised and posted a cryptic quote on Instagram. Now, Suryakumar Yadav, a key member of the franchise, has joined the bandwagon, sharing a cryptic Instagram story featuring a broken heart emoticon.

Rohit is one of the most successful captains in IPL history, leading the franchise to a record five titles during his tenure. However, he couldn't replicate that success on the international stage, facing setbacks in the 2022 T20 World Cup, the World Test Championship 2023, and the ICC World Cup 2023. Suryakumar, who holds a clear fondness for Rohit, seems disappointed with the decision by the MI camp to remove the captaincy from the shoulders of the Indian opener. His Instagram story appears to be a reaction to this move.

The 36-year-old, absent from India's T20I line-up since the 2022 T20 World Cup, won't be leading his IPL franchise in 2024. The India skipper took a cricket hiatus post India's World Cup 2023 loss and is geared up for his comeback in the upcoming two-match Test series versus South Africa, commencing on December 26. His absence from T20Is lingers, but anticipation builds for his return in the Test arena after the recent cricketing setback.

His remarkable performance included six half-centuries, with an unbeaten 87 as his best score. Additionally, Pandya contributed with the ball, securing 11 wickets for the team, claiming his best figures of 3/17.
