Team Australia's opening batter David Warner got out in one of the unluckiest ways against New Zealand in the home team's opening encounter being played at the Sydney Cricket Ground on October 22 (Saturday).
The Black Caps have played extremely well in the match so far as they scored 200 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Opening batter Devon Conway was at his brutal best as he scored 92 runs in just 58 balls hitting seven fours and two maximums.
Warner's bizarre dismissal
Speaking about Warner's dismissal, it was the first ball of the second over as the left-handed batter was facing Tim Southee. The right-arm pacer bowled a short-length delivery with Warner crouching low and attempting the shot. However, the inside edge hit his pad and then took the edge of the bat before crashing into the stumps.

Speaking about New Zealand's first innings, apart from Conway, the other opener Finn Allen also took on the Australian bowling line-up as he smashed 42 runs off just 16 balls which included five fours and three maximums.
Apart from Conway and Allen, skipper Kane Williamson, Glenn Phillips, and James Neesham gave some small but vital contributions to the team as the Kiwi side reached the 200-run mark in their allotted 20 overs. Meanwhile, Australia got off to a horrible start to their chase as they lost three crucial wickets inside the field restrictions. The likes of Warner, Finch, and Mitchell Marsh were dismissed early.
"Got a call last night (being included in the XI) and had the night to sleep on it and get ready for today. We talked about throwing the first punch and not letting them settle early. It was just committing to that and being fearless. It's a good competitive score. We've done half the job, hopefully, we can finish it off," Allen said during mid-innings break.
