T20 World Cup 2022: PAK vs BAN - Best Memes from the game

Pakistan qualified for the semi-finals of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 after beating Bangladesh at the Adelaide Oval by five wickets. The Netherlands managed to upset South Africa earlier in the day and it set up the stage for Pakistan as all they needed was to win their fixture against the Bangla Tigers.

Earlier, Bangladesh batted first after winning the toss and in-form batter Litton Das was removed early by Shaheen Afridi. Najmul Hossain Shanto and Soumya Sarkar steadied the ship with a 52-run partnership, however, Pakistan made a comeback with constant wickets. Shanto reached his half-century while the remaining batters failed to convert their starts.  

In the end, Bangladesh ended up with 127 for 8 in their 20 overs and Afridi was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan with 4 for 22 in his four-over spell. Chasing a paltry total, Mohammad Rizwan survived in the very first over after Nurul Hasan dropped a regulation catch behind the stumps. The opening partnership added 57 runs for the first wicket in more than ten overs before Babar Azam was dismissed for a 33-ball 25.

Mohammad Haris's quickfire knock takes Bangladesh out of the game

Bangladesh sniffed a small chance and they got rid of Rizwan in the very next over. The game was evenly poised till that moment, however, Mohammad Haris came out with a positive mindset and changed things around quickly. His 18-ball 31 alongside Shan Masood’s unbeaten 24 brought the required rate considerably down and helped Pakistan win the game with 11 balls to spare.  

With the victory, Pakistan have moved to the first position on the points table of Group 2 and they will have to wait for the India game to see if they remain on the top or slide to the second spot. On the other hand, Bangladesh finished below the Netherlands on the table.
