T20 World Cup 2022: PCB reveals Pakistan team's jersey for the tournament

Pakistan will begin their campaign against India in the World Cup.

With the nations starting to reveal their new kits for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022, Pakistan have joined the race and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have unveiled Pakistan’s official jersey for the mega ICC event. The images of the new kit have gone viral on social media already with skipper Babar Azam being the heart of the image and the board has made it official.

Vice-captain Shadab Khan and pace sensation Naseem Shah alongside two women’s cricketers have been spotted wearing the new jersey. PCB had earlier initiated about the theme being ‘Thunder’ for the new kit and the design of the jersey to be based on it. Shades of different green, which is dark and light mixed stripes constitutes the new Pakistan ‘jersey’ and recently the leaked images of the jersey had been trolled on social media by the fans. 

The design of the jersey was compared with ‘watermelons’ and it did not excite the Pakistan fans who looked unconvinced on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Pakistan will start their campaign in the T20 World Cup 2022 against their arch rivals India on October 23 in Super 12 stages of the tournament. In the recent Asia Cup, India and Pakistan took on each twice and both teams won a game each in different stages of the tournament. The men in green made it to the finals where they lost to Sri Lanka and ended up as the runners up.  

The board has announced the squad for the T20 World Cup and most of the names from the Asia Cup had been retained.  

Pakistan’s squad for T20 World Cup 2022: Babar Azam (captain), Shadab Khan (vice-captain), Asif Ali, Haider Ali, Haris Rauf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Wasim Junior, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shan Masood and Usman Qadir. 

Traveling reserves: Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Haris and Shahnawaz Dahani.
