Zimbabwe managed to upset the 2009 T20 World Cup champions, Pakistan in the ongoing edition of the tournament in Australia and there were unbelievable scenes on the ground. Chasing a meagre 131, Pakistan did not have the best of starts, losing their openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan quickly. Shan Masood and Shadab Khan took the game deep but were dismissed at the wrong time due to a brilliant bowling spell from Sikandar Raza who picked up three wickets in the game.
The equation came down to 11 needed off the final over and Pakistan picked up seven runs in the first two balls comfortably. However, Brad Evans picked up the important wicket of Mohammad Nawaz who looked like taking the game away and defended three off the last delivery to win the game for his side by one run. It was a historic moment for the Zimbabwe team who have struggled to win consistently over the years and there was a sense complete joy at the ground from the players.
Ryan Burl and Brad Evans who earlier helped Zimbabwe from 95 for 7 to ultimately reach the final score of 130 for 8, were spotted posing with an Indian beer brand in their hands. “Can’t believe what just happened #t20worldcup,” captioned Burl on his tweet.

The post went viral as the netizens wondered if Zimbabwe did a favour for the Indian fans by beating their arch-rivals Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan team needs to win all their remaining games in the T20 World Cup 2022 Group fixtures and hope for the other teams' results to fall in their favour after two consecutive defeats. Zimbabwe on the other hand have three points on board in the two games they played and will take on Bangladesh in their next encounter on Sunday (October 30).
