Bizarre incidents take place during a cricket match, be it on the field or off the field, and an unusual incident took place during the T20 World Cup 2022 first-round match between West Indies and Scotland.
A toddler had a terrible fall as he stumbled off the fence between the ground and the stands. The kid’s father came running to save him from falling off, but unfortunately, he couldn’t and the toddler fell upside down. The incident took place during the first innings of the game, at the end of the 14th over when Scotland was batting.

Scotland upset West Indies
Speaking of how the game panned out, Scotland were off to a good start as the openers Michael Jones and George Munsey shared a 55-run stand before the former walked off. While Munsey kept going, it did not take long for the West Indies bowlers to dismiss top-order wicketkeeper-batter Matthew Cross.
Munsey kept the momentum going, but kept losing his partners. Skipper Richie Berrington and Calum MacLeod chipped in 16 and 23 runs off the 14 deliveries that they faced in the middle and assisted Munsey while scoring runs. Chris Greaves’ cameo of an unbeaten 11-ball 16 towards the end and Munsey’s unbeaten knock of 66(53) helped Scotland post a target of 161 runs.
West Indies, given their powerful batting lineup, looked confident of chasing it. But it is the T20 World Cup, and one never knows how the tables turn. Openers Kyle Mayers and Evin Lewis were dismissed in the powerplay scoring 20 and 14 runs respectively, off the 13 deliveries that they faced. Top-order batter Brandon King added some 17 off runs on the board, but could not maintain his wicket.
The middle-order lineup, which consisted of skipper Nicholas Pooran, Shamarh Brooks, and Rovman Powell, came crashing down when the Scottish bowlers worked their magic. Jason Holder maintained his composure and tried to anchor the innings with his 33-ball 38, but he fell short of partners on the other end, but his wicket put curtains on West Indies’ innings and the two-time World Cup champions faced a disappointing 42-run defeat.
