For the major part of the game, it looked the home side was cruising to a win and out of nowhere, came Mohammed Shami to bowl a brilliant last over and turn the game on its head. Among the noticeable events, a hilarious reaction from Dinesh Karthik went viral on the internet.
The experienced lad, who will be among the very few players that are active from the 2007 T20 World Cup in South Africa, donned the wicketkeeping gloves for India. He hit some lusty blows with the bat in his quickfire knock of 14-ball 20 in the first innings but his reaction to Arshdeep Singh’s wavered throw left the fans in splits and even Virat Kohli could not stop himself from having a laugh at it.
Arshdeep was fielding at the deep fine leg area when the batter took a single and the left-arm seamer's throw stunned Karthik who was waiting at the stumps. The throw wasn’t anywhere near the crease or the stumps and another fielder had to run in for backing up the throw. Kohli who was standing beside Karthik during the entire incident watched Karthik’s reaction and he had a good laugh over it while walking back to his original fielding position.
