After struggling in the first three games, KL Rahul finally succeeded in making his bat do the talking in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 encounter against Bangladesh at the Adelaide Oval on Wednesday, November 2 as he scored a morale-boosting 50.
However, one of his outstanding cricketing shots is what stood out during this cameo knock which also impressed the batting megastar Virat Kohli and left him awestruck.
Virat Kohli lauds KL Rahul's excellent cricketing shot
Rahul looked a bit rusty initially as he left some good balls especially the ones bowled outside the off stump line. He was under pressure as he was coming into this contest on the back of three successive failures having scored just 4, 9, and, 9 runs so far.
However, once skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed with just two runs against his name off eight deliveries, Rahul decided to take the charge and played a fearless brand of cricket. He look so good that even Virat Kohli played a second fiddle during their 67-run partnership for the second wicket.
On one of the deliveries, Rahul played his trademark flick shot which was not only timed well but also landed into the crowd for a huge six. This spectacular shot left Virat awestruck and he gave a jaw-dropping look expressing his disbelief.

Rahul looked well set for a big score, but it was not to be as he was dismissed immediately after reaching his half-century. He walked back to the dugout scoring 50 runs off 32 balls at a strike rate of 156.25 and his knock included three fours and four sixes.
After Rahul's dismissal, Kohli took the initiative of keeping the scoreboard ticking and he played aggressively once he found his feet. The batting icon registered his 36th T20I half-century and surpassed the Sri Lanka batting icon Mahela Jayawardene to become the leading run-scorer in T20 World Cup history. Kohli remained unbeaten on 64 runs off 44 deliveries as India posted a stiff total of 184/6.
