Team India arrives in New York ahead of T20 World Cup 2024

With the conclusion of the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024, several players have already shifted their focus onto international assignments, especially the upcoming T20 World Cup. The marquee event will kick off on June 2 and will be co-hosted by the USA and the West Indies. 

Ahead of the tournament, much to the fans’ pleasure, the Indian team has arrived in New York for the World Cup. The clip of the squad landing at the New York airport was shared by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket) on their X (formerly known as Twitter) handle.

In the clip that has been going viral all over social media, several players like Shubman Gill, Shivam Dube, Arshdeep Singh, and many more stars can be seen in the airplane and landing at the New York airport. 

India face Ireland to kick off T20 World Cup 2024

Speaking of the T20 World Cup 2024, after their arrival in America, the Indian team will be playing a warm-up game ahead of the marquee tournament. Team India will be facing Bangladesh in a warm-up game at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York, on Saturday, June 1. 

Furthermore, after the warm-up game, Team India will kick off their T20 World Cup campaign by taking on Ireland. Both sides will lock horns at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York in the eighth game of the tournament on Wednesday, June 5. 

Both teams are part of Group A in the T20 World Cup, and alongside India and Ireland, the likes of Canada, Pakistan, and the USA are also part of the group. The clashes could be full of surprises as the USA recently defeated Bangladesh in a three-game T20I series, making a statement for themselves. Furthermore, the much-awaited India-Pakistan clash will take place in New York on June 9.
