The first T20I of the ongoing five-match series between the West Indies and India went in favour of the hosts. However, even more so than the win, the more discussed topic of the game was the incident that took place in the latter stages of the run chase, which involved Yuzvendra Chahal.

With India requiring 10 runs to win in 5 deliveries, Kuldeep Yadav was dismissed by Romario Shepherd on the first ball of the 20th over, and Chahal geared up and walked out to bat. However, it was soon realised that coach Rahul Dravid and skipper Hardik Pandya wanted debutant Mukesh Kumar to bat at number 10.

As Chahal attempted to walk back to the pavilion, he was not allowed to do so by the umpires. Forced to bat at number 10 after walking out, Yuzvendra Chahal, scored a single off the first ball, but Arshdeep Singh failed to finish the job. The video of Chahal’s incident has been doing the rounds on social media.
