Telangana CM announces cash reward of INR 1 crore for Gongadi Trisha after India's Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup win

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy recently announced a cash reward of INR 1 crore for young cricketer Gongadi Trisha in recognition of her brilliant performance in India's U19 Women's T20 World Cup title-winning campaign in Malaysia. The announcement was made during Trisha’s visit to the CM’s residence in Jubilee Hills, where she was praised for her contributions to India's victory.

During her meeting, the CM expressed his pride in her achievements and wished her success in her future career. As a mark of appreciation, the Telangana government announced a cash reward of INR 1 crore for Trisha. Additionally, the state government also recognized the efforts of other key contributors from Telangana.

Dhrithi Kesari, who was a part of the victorious squad but did not get an opportunity to play, was awarded INR 10 lakh. The team's head coach, Nooshin Al Khadeer, a former Indian cricketer, and trainer Shalini were also rewarded with INR 10 lakh each for their contributions to the team's success.

"Recently, she performed brilliantly in the Under-19 World Cup and has emerged on the world cricket stage. Trisha, the powerful voice of Telangana, was politely met today. I have announced a reward of one crore rupees on behalf of the state government as a reward for her talent. Wishing Trisha more success in cricket... We have decided to give a compensation of Rs 10 lakh each to Telangana's Dhruti Kesari, a member of the Under-19 World Cup team, team head coach Nausheen, and trainer Shalini," Revanth Reddy wrote on X.

Gongadi Trisha finished as tournament’s leading run-scorer 

The talented all-rounder played a crucial role in India’s title defence, finishing as the tournament’s top run-scorer with 309 runs at an average of 77.25 and a strike rate of 147.14. Notably, Gongadi Trisha also created history by becoming the first batter to score a century in the competition, achieving the feat against Scotland.

Trisha with the ball claimed seven wickets at an economy rate of 3.75. Her three-wicket haul in the final against South Africa played an important role in restricting the opposition to a manageable total.
