Former India captain Kapil Dev is on the receiving end on social media flak after comparing Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli and commenting on Kohli's on-field behaviour. Every cricket fan is well-versed with the aggression and passion Kohli exudes whenever he steps onto the field. He is revered for his style of game and the comments of Kapil have not gone down well with certain fans as they expressed their displeasure on social media.

The former India all-rounder credited Rohit as one among the best captains India has ever produced. The fans, however, were unabashed in their response and quipped that Rohit has no ICC silverware to his name and the remarks do not hold good.

"He (Rohit Sharma) is not like Virat Kohli, he does not jump around. He knows his limitations, but within those limitations, he performs the best. A big tick in favour of Rohit Sharma is that he keeps the entire team happy. There are many great players who play for themselves, take the captaincy for themselves, but not him," said Kapil in a viral video.

"We haven't reached the final yet, but 'Virat vs Rohit' has started. We won't win like this," wrote a fan on X.

Here's the video of Kapil Dev's remarks on Kohli:

Virat Kohli’s struggle as opener continues

Talking about Kohli’s performance at the T20 World Cup 2024, the right-handed batter has been underwhelming, to say the least. He is entrusted with the opening position alongside Rohit, and the batter has amassed just 66 runs in seven innings. There are talks of replacing Rishabh Pant as an opener as Kohli’s struggle seems never-ending. On the other hand, after a series of disastrous outings, Rohit made a comeback scoring a rapid 92 runs in just 41 balls against Australia.
