The 2023 Asia Cup's venue is yet to be finalised with India and Pakistan being at loggerheads. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) held a meeting recently regarding the hosting of the tournament, however, there was no decision made on the matter, and it was decided that the final verdict would be given out in March.

There have been several reports that indicated that the Asia Cup would now be hosted in the UAE instead of Pakistan. Notably, BCCI secretary Jay Shah, who is also the ACC President, had clarified that India will not travel to Pakistan and therefore, the event will be shifted to a neutral venue.

Former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad recently voiced his opinion on the matter and said that "India can go to hell if they don’t want to come to Pakistan."

His comments sparked controversy and now, former Indian player Venkatesh Prasad has responded to Miandad’s remarks. "But they are refusing to go to hell," tweeted Prasad.

Following the fiery comments of Miandad, veteran off spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also came forward to talk about the matter. "But we would have seen this happen many times, right? When we say the Asia Cup won’t go to their place, they will say that they will also not come to our place," he said on his YouTube channel.

The hosting row of the 2023 Asia Cup has been a much discussed topic in recent weeks. Meanwhile, after the BCCI’s stand against travel to Pakistan, the PCB has said that it will boycott the 2023 ODI World Cup, which is scheduled to be played in India later this year. The long debate will finally be settled in March when the final decision on the matter is released.
