Former England cricketer suggested Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) star batter should move to Delhi Capitals (DC) in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore's IPL 2023 campaign ended with a heartbreaking defeat against Gujarat Titans in a must-win clash at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. Virat Kohli seemed frustrated and upset as RCB continued the hunt for their first IPL title. Virat Kohli's magnificent performance, scoring 101 off 61, went in vain as Gujarat Titians chased down 198 runs with five balls to spare.

Virat Kohli smashed a superb century against Gujarat Titians, putting a total of 197 runs on the board for the Challengers to defend. Gujarat Titans opener Shubman Gill, on the other hand, produced an outstanding ton and knocked off Royal Challengers Bangalore with six wickets.

Kohli took the crushing blow of elimination, as he was seen hurling a bottle after RCB failed to defend the 198-run total.

Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen has advised Virat Kohli to change his IPL franchise from Royal Challengers Bangalore to Delhi Capitals for the forthcoming seasons of the Indian Premier League.

"Time for VIRAT to make the move to the capital city…! #IPL," Pietersen tweeted.

Pietersen’s remark came as RCB were knocked out of IPL after their loss to table toppers GT. Pietersen's comments drew different reactions from cricket fans on Twitter. While some die-hard RCB fans criticised the England legend for suggesting such a move, many urged Kohli to heed the advice.

Virat Kohli has been with Royal Challengers Bangalore since the tournament's debut in 2008. The 34-year-old holds the record for most IPL matches played for a single franchise. With almost 230 matches, Kohli owns the record of being the first batter to score over 7,000 runs in the cash-rich competition.
