The Barbados' Hurricane Beryl delayed the champion Indian team's return to home after the T20 World Cup 2024, but it didn't diminish the intensity of the crowd to be at the homecoming of their heroes, as they returned the homeland on Thursday, July 04. Standing at the forefront for the grand welcome was Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had arranged a special welcome interaction with the Men in Blue over a scrumptious breakfast at his New Delhi residence.

But the jubilant atmosphere had only started as they arrived in the capital city. Rohit Sharma's men had a delightful morning session with PM Modi, which gave a fitting tribute to their triumphant campaign on the foreign soil, bringing the trophy home after 17 long years. All the members had a brief and a candid chat with the Prime Minister, sharing and expressing their moments of victory with the 73-year-old.

A snippet of the conversation emerged, showing wrist-spinner, Kuldeep Yadav, engaged in dialogue with Modi. The players were seated in a circular arrangement around the room, with Modi as the central figure of attention. Modi candidly jokingly asked Kuldeep how he dared to make the team's skipper, Rohit Sharma, dance around (referring to the moment during the post-match ceremony when Kuldeep asked Rohit to perform a small jig after receiving the trophy and heading to the podium where the team would collectively lift it).

"Kuldeep, tumhari yeh himmat kaise hui ki tum captain ko nacha rahe ho (How dare you make the captain dance?)," jestfully interrogated the PM.

"Captain ko maine nahi nachaaya. Yes, maine unko bola tha yeh karne ke liye jab unhone bola tha kuch naya karte hai, toh maine unko bataaya yeh kar sakte hai...par jaise maine bataaya waise kiya nahi unhone (I didn’t make the captain dance. I just told him to do it, but he didn’t do it in a way I had asked him to)," replied Kuldeep.
