The charisma of some players never fails to seize the moments both on and off the field. Some players also have a natural sense of humour, which can leave anyone into a laugh riot time and again. Now in a video surfacing over the social media world, the former World champion and India Captain, MS Dhoni, was seen narrating a hilarious incident which took place between him and his wife on the run out versus stumping subject.
The man who is known for his lightning-fast glovework behind the wickets was left stumped by his wife, Sakshi Dhoni when she argued about an umpire's decision while watching the game on television. Fascinatingly enough, Dhoni even mentioned how the couple rarely talk about cricket at home. While recalling the hilarious incident, he revealed that once he was watching an international game on the TV set and at the time of discussion, a batter tried to dance down the track in an attempt to hit the bowler for a six.
However, he got foxed by a wide ball delivery dished out by the bowler. The result? The batter very well knowing that he was stumped by the wicketkeeper despite the ball being wide and he had no chance of any respite from the umpires, had already started to walk back to the pavilion. However, while watching the drama unfold, Sakshi gave her verdict that the batter was not out and the umpire was totally wrong in giving him as out. Not just that, she also seemed confident about the batter being called back by the umpire in a while.
However, MS Dhoni tried to explain that the decision was well within the laws and that there was a slight difference between getting stumped out and running a player out. To Dhoni's surprise, Sakshi then darted back at 'Mahi' as he is fondly known, by saying that the cricket stalwart had no idea about the game.
"Ghar mein baithke we were watching a game. Toh ek match chal raha tha, one-day international tha, Sakshi bhi thi saath mein. Usually main aur Sakshi cricket ke baare mein baat nahin karte. Bowler ne ball daala. It was a wide, batsman ne step out kiya, toh woh stump ho gaya," said Dhoni in the viral video on the 'X' platform.
"Umpires usually review le lete hain ki third umpire decide karega. My wife started, 'Out nahin hai.' Jab tak usne bola out nahin hai, batsman ne chalna start kar diya tha. You just see they will call him back. Wide ball mein stump ho hee nahin sakta hai (We were at home watching a game and there was an ODI going in. Sakshi was there with me. We don't talk about cricket when we are together. Bowler bowled a wide ball, batsman stepped out and was stumped. But my wife said it's not out. By that time, the batsman had started walking back. But she kept saying the umpires will call him back as there can be no stumping in wide)," the former world champion continued.

"So, maine kaha wide mein stumping hota hai, no ball mein nahin hota. She was 'Tumko kuch nahin pata hai'. You just wait third umpire will call him back. Jab tak yeh baat ho rahi hai woh bechara batsman already boundary line tak paunch gaya. She is like 'No no, they have to call him back. Finally jab out hua aur next batsman aa gaya, 'There's something wrong' (I told her in case of a wide there is stumping but not when there is a no ball. But she said you just wait the third umpire will call him back. By this time, the batsman had already reached the boundary line. Finally when the new batsman arrived she said, "There's something wrong," Dhoni concluded the hilarious banter, leaving the attendees in an event laughing hard and loud.
