In a thrilling encounter on September 12th, South Africa clashed with Australia in the 3rd ODI of their 5-match series. Australia won the toss and opted to bowl first, setting the stage for an enthralling contest at the cricketing arena.
South Africa's innings got off to a roaring start as openers Quinton de Kock (82 off 77) got off flying from the word get-go. Captain Temba Bavuma (57 off 62) also chipped in with a valuable contribution. De Kock displayed his class with 10 fours and 2 sixes. It was Aiden Markram who thwarted all challenges from the Australia bowling unit and hammered a brilliant 102 off 74 balls. His sensational century powers South Africa to a huge 338/6.
Australia's Travis Head managed to grab 2 crucial wickets, but South Africa's batsmen largely dominated the proceedings.
In response, Australia started their chase on a positive note, thanks to the explosive partnership between David Warner (78 off 56) and Travis Head (38 off 24). However, a run-out incident involving Warner proved to be the turning point of the innings, and from there, Australia's fortunes took a nosedive. The rest of the Australian batsmen struggled to find their rhythm, and wickets tumbled at regular intervals.
Gerald Coetzee emerged as the star bowler for South Africa, wreaking havoc with his four wickets in just 6.3 overs. The spin duo of Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi also played their part, claiming two wickets each. Australia's innings came to a dismal end as they were bowled out for a total of 227 runs.
South Africa's resounding victory, by a massive margin of 111 runs, breathed new life into the series, cutting their deficit to 2-1 in favor of Australia. The match showcased the depth and resilience of the South African team, particularly their batting prowess in posting a commanding total and their bowling excellence in dismantling the Australian batting lineup.

That’s a mental decision by the third umpire in the Aus vs SA match. Clearly ball hit the ground.

The South African's look so angry when they take a wicket, probably because they've lost so many games. #AUSvsSA
