Pakistan women won two thrilling encounters against the South Africa women to bag the three-match series on Sunday, September 3. After the phenomenal result, the 'Women in Green' played with relentless energy to win the third and final T20I at the National Stadium, in Karachi, on Monday, September 4.

Sidra Ameen and Shawaal Zulfiqar got the hosts off to a sedate start after being invited to bat first. Ameen played a patient 39-ball 39-run knock to lay the platform for her side. Former captain Bismah Maroof scored a valuable 34-ball 39 but Nida Dar led from the front with an entertaining 20-ball 36. Tumi Sekhukhune was the pick of the bowlers for South Africa, finishing with figures of 2/24 in four overs.

The home side finally finished their innings with a challenging total of 150/5. In reply, Laura Wolvaardt, who is one of South Africa's premier batters, played an exceptional knock of 72 off 54 balls with the help of nine boundaries. However, the remaining batters couldn't support her as much as she would have liked. Nadine de Klerk was the second-highest run-getter with a 22-ball 20 and played till the end but couldn't get her team over the line.

Wolvaardt was dismissed in the 19th over with the visitors still requiring 18 runs to win off nine deliveries. The equation came down to 13 required off the last over and Diana Baig was given the responsibility of bowling the same. She bowled a no-ball but still managed to deliver three dot balls as South Africa fell short by only six runs. For Pakistan, Nashra Sandhu bowled really well, ending with immaculate figures of 2/16 in four overs. She was well-supported by Sadia Iqbal, who also picked up a two-for. This whitewash will give Pakistan a lot of confidence heading into the upcoming three-match ODI series.
