Musheer Khan, who is the younger brother of Sarfaraz Khan, headlined a thumping 214-run win for India in the U19 World Cup against New Zealand on Tuesday, January 30, at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein.

During his sensational knock of 131 runs off just 126 balls, Musheer belted 13 fours and three sixes. One of his sixes has gone viral on social media, as it drew comparisons with legendary Indian captain MS Dhoni's iconic helicopter shot.

The right-handed batter hit the aforementioned six off Mason Clarke off the first ball of the 46th over of India's innings, when he was batting on 114 off 117 balls.

With this ton, Musheer became only the second Indian batter to score two centuries in the U19 World Cup. Shikhar Dhawan was the first one to do it, as he slammed three tons in the 2004 edition of the tournament.

The 18-year-old had scored 118 off 106 balls against Ireland at the same venue last week. He is currently on top of the list of leading run-getters in the marquee event, having smashed 325 runs from four games at an average of 81.25 and a strike rate of 103.17. Musheer's excellent performance in the World Cup must have doubled the joy in the Khan family, as Sarfaraz received a call-up to the Indian side on Monday ahead of the second Test versus England.

Saumy Pandey shines with the ball once again

Apart from Musheer's epic ton, opener Adarsh Singh also impressed with a solid 52 off 58 balls. On the back of these knocks, India finished on 295/8 in their 50 overs.

In reply, New Zealand were blown away for just 81 runs in 28.1 overs. Left-arm spinner Saumy Pandey, who has been in prolific form in the tournament thus far, picked up four wickets, conceding just 19 runs in his 10 overs. Musheer also did a commendable job with the ball, as he bagged a couple of wickets, and so did pacer Raj Limbani. Meanwhile, Naman Tiwari and Arshin Kulkarni chipped in with a wicket apiece.
