A video of the match has resurfaced on social media, showing Pietersen being stumped by Kohli's impressive delivery. The former player acknowledged the brilliance of the ball, labelling it as "unplayable" and praising Kohli's clever bowling. Notably, it was Kohli's first wicket in T20Is. Pietersen complimented Kohli's bowling skills and stating that he was a better bowler than a batter at that time.

While Kohli is best known for his batting abilities, he has occasionally showcased his bowling talents as well. His most recent bowling performance was during the 2023 World Cup when he completed an over due to an injury to Hardik Pandya. In T20s, his last bowling appearance was in the 2022 Asia Cup match against Hong Kong.

Kohli holds the record for the highest-ever run-getter in men's T20Is, with 4008 runs in 115 matches. He has an impressive average of 52.73, including one century and 37 half-centuries. Despite breaking numerous records, he is still behind cricket legends like Ricky Ponting, Kumar Sangakkara, and Sachin Tendulkar in terms of overall international runs.

In the ongoing 2023 World Cup, Kohli has been performing well with the bat, scoring 354 runs in five matches at an average of 118. He has one century and three fifties to his name.
