Amit Mishra had a cheeky congratulatory wish for Yuzvendra Chahal as the latter became the first cricketer to get to 200 Indian Premier League (IPL) wickets during the clash between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Mumbai Indians (MI), on Monday, April 22.
The Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur witnessed a special moment as the veteran leg-spinner Chahal made Mohammad Nabi his 200th IPL victim in the eighth over of the match. He bowled a flighted leg-spinner on middle and leg, which Nabi looked to turn to the leg-side but he was early into the shot and only managed a leading edge that was caught easily by the Rajasthan spinner.
Later, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) posted a video of another experienced leg-spinner Amit Mishra, where the 41-year-old congratulated Chahal and vowed that he would try to get past his wickets tally once he gets his chance to play.
"Hi Yuzi [Yuzvendra Chahal], bohot khush hu apke 200 wickto k liye, aur mere ko peeche chor diya kyunki main khel nahi raha hu. Isliye tu aage badh gaya hai aur main wish kar raha hu ki ek accha healthy competition rahe [Very happy for you 200 wickets. You've left me behind as I'm not playing. That is why you have surpassed me and I wish a healthy competition stays. I'm waiting for my chance to beat you again]," Mishra said in the video posted by LSG on their social media handles.
"Chalo dekhte hai aage chalke kya hota hai [Let's see what happens in the future], but I'm really happy for you. Keep it going. All the very best!" the veteran leg spin wizard further added.

Notably, Amit Mishra has 173 wickets to his name from 161 matches and is yet to feature in the ongoing IPL 2024 as the KL Rahul-led side have preferred Ravi Bishnoi and Krunal Pandya over him as their spin-bowling options.
