Video of Piyush Chawla's seven-year-old son showcasing spin-bowling skills grabs attention

Piyush Chawla shared a heartwarming video of him playing cricket inside a house along with his seven-year-old son Advik. Little Advik impressed with his spin-bowling skills, getting past his father's defense on a couple of occasions with some prodigious turn.

Chawla got married to Anubhuti Chauhan on November 29, 2013, in a grand ceremony in Moradabad with only close friends and family members being on the list of invitees. They were blessed with Advik on March 24, 2017. The youngster's fondness for cricket is well known as earlier this year during the Indian Premier League (IPL), he was seen playing cricket with Hardik Pandya at an airport. Mumbai Indians shared a video of the duo practicing catches.

A few days ago, Piyush posted a video on his official Instagram account, where Advik bowled leg-spin as well as off-spin with commendable control. The video garnered a lot of affectionate comments from the fans as they loved how the father-son duo indulged in the game of cricket.

"Weekend morning starts like this for us at home #cricketlovers #legspin #duo #spin #bowling," the 35-year-old wrote in the caption of the video.

How did Piyush Chawla fare at IPL 2024?

The leg-spinner had a decent outing in IPL 2024 for the Mumbai Indians. Unlike last season, where he played all the matches, Chawla featured in 11 games and bagged 13 wickets at an average of 24 and a strike rate of 16.15. He finished with an economy rate of just under nine.

Chawla is one of the most experienced leg-spinners currently playing in Indian cricket. He has ventured into commentary but hasn't retired from cricket as yet. The veteran, who turns 36 in December, has been playing in the IPL from the inaugural season and is a two-time champion. He was also a part of India's ODI World Cup-winning campaign in 2011.
