Taskin Ahmed provided a brilliant start to Bangladesh in Match 6 of Champions Trophy 2025 clash against New Zealand at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium as he sent back Will Young with a ripper in the first over of his team's defence.
Young could do nothing but watch the ball thud onto the stumps as the fuller delivery, which started from the fourth stump line, got through the gap between bat and pad and struck timber. Taskin was pumped up after the dismissal, as he wheeled away in celebration.

Williamson departs early
Replacing Young was former Black Caps skipper, Kane Williamson. However, his own stay in the middle was a short one as he nicked a 148.8 kph Nahid Rana delivery to the wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim. The ball took the edge as Williamson went for a drive but failed, leaving New Zealand two-down in no time.
Earlier in the day, Bangladesh ended up scoring 236 for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 50-over quota. Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto top-scored with 77 off 110 deliveries. Apart from him, Jaker Ali contributed with 45 off 55 while Rishad Hossain scored 26 off 25 to provide some respectability to the score. As for the Kiwis, Michael Bracewell was the standout performer as he secured a four-wicket haul, ending up with career-best ODI figures of 4/26.
