Video of the Day - Women's Premier League 2025: Deepti Sharma knocks over Smriti Mandhana for cheap score
The most-recent dismissal marked the third time Deepti got the better of Smriti in as many seasons of the WPL.
Deepti Sharma landed the first blow on Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women in Match 9 of the ongoing edition of the Women's Premier League at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. UP Warriorz Women's skipper got rid of her opposition number on the fourth delivery of the fourth over.
RCB-W's skipper, Smriti Mandhana, ended up getting cramped for room to a delivery which was neither short nor wide enough to cut. The ball ended up deflecting off the inside-half of the bat onto the stumps. Interestingly, this was the third time Deepti got the better of Smriti across three editions of the WPL.

Wyatt-Hodge, Perry lead the charge after Mandhana's early loss
Danni Wyatt-Hodge and Ellyse Perry did more than just steady the ship after the dismissal of their side's skipper early on. The former got dismissed in the 15th over of the innings after scoring 57 off 41 deliveries. Perry glided her way to yet another impactful knock for RCB-W, ending up unbeaten on 90 off 56 deliveres.
For UP-W, Sophie Ecclestone was the standout bowler. She ended up with frugal figures of 0/29 in her four-over spell. Apart from the Smriti's wicket, Deepti had an off day with the ball. She ended up conceding 42 runs. The tourists will be chasing 181 to register their second win in this season's WPL. Four of RCB-W's middle-order batters made 8, 5, 7, and 2, respectively, in what could be labelled as a two-person effort for the home team.
