Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma host RCB players and support staff for dinner in Mumbai
Next up, RCB will take on Rajasthan Royals on May 14.
Former Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli hosted his teammates and support staff for dinner in his restaurant in Mumbai. Notably, after their match against the Rohit Sharma-led side in the ongoing IPL 2023, the 34-year-old invited everyone who is currently a part of the camp as the video instantly went viral on social media.
Current RCB skipper Faf du Plessis along with Mohammed Siraj, Josh Hazlewood, Wayne Parnell, Wanindu Hasaranga and other RCB stars arrived in the team bus wearing casuals for the dinner while some of the players were also accompanied by their families at One8 Commune, a restaurant owned by the cricketer.
RCB struggling on the IPL points table
After their disappointing defeat at the hands of Mumbai Indians, three-time finalists are currently seventh on the IPL points table. Notably, in order to qualify for the IPL playoffs, the team cannot afford to drop any more points as they will next take on Rajasthan Royals (May 14), Sunrisers Hyderabad (May 18) and Gujarat Titans (May 21) respectively.
Meanwhile, coming to their performance, a lot depends of their success depends on the top three players. Faf du Plessis is playing some brilliant cricket at the moment as the South Africa international has amassed 576 runs in 11 matches so far and with that, he is currently at the top of the IPL Orange Cap race. When it comes to Virat Kohli, the Delhi-born cricketer has scored 420 runs in 11 matches and has once again been the Mr. dependable for RCB.
Batting at number three, Glenn Maxwell smashed 68 runs off 33 deliveries in the match against Mumbai Indians and if the Australia international manages to keep up with the same form, then he can prove to be extremely dangerous at the business end of the tournament. Stumper-batter Dinesh Karthik too showed glimpses of his form in the last match but he will have to be more consistent.
When it comes to the bowlers, Mohammed Siraj started well but hasn’t fired in the last two matches. Meanwhile, Wanindu Hasaranaga and Josh Hazlewood have done reasonably well but there’s room for improvement.
